Tune City Records

 Where The Music Lives On

About Us

We are a new  Record Label started by former President and Producer of Brimstone Records, Joe Brooklyn. His knowledge of the business, producing and developing talent sets this label apart from a lot of the rest.  Just check out his first release ,"Time Machine In My Yard"  by the group ZIZZLEBOLT , and decide for yourself.  He's all about the music, the song, and the artist. He doesn't worry about trends or what 's hot now. He is looking to the future of music and its survival as a whole.
Mr. Joe Brooklyn, started his career as a musician and performer back in the early 70's. Playing in various bands after High School an audition landed him in an up and coming New York  rock band, Armstrong. The next couple of years he received a musical education, like no other. He played at  all the major clubs at the time, CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, The Coventry, Club 82 to name a few . He has  opened for The Ramones, jammed with The Patty Smith Group, and  played with members of  Twisted Sister, The Shirts, The Aliens among others. At the same time he was honing his songwriting , performance and recording skills , playing clubs in Greenwich Village. He was somewhat of a regular at Folk City, The Other End, The Bitter End, and other coffeehouses and taverns in the area.
He later took a job at Paramount Pictures,  to try and get into their music publishing arm as a songwriter. After a year there, he decided to go on his own and started Brimstone Productions. Originally started as Management Company, it developed into a Music Publishing Company, and lastly a Record Company, Brimstone Records. Working with different writers and groups along the East Coast, he found some success with the Group Secret Agent out of Maryland. He Produced and released their first Single " In My Shoes" , which was received well both regionally on major radio stations in the area, as well as nationally on College Radio. A bad economy,  and other factors, forced him to shut down Brimstone Productions.

Fast forward to 2009, he is back with a new venture Tune City Records. With Sun Records,  Motown, and a few others as his business model, he's out to change the music world! In a recent interview Joe was quoted as saying, "The new DIY attitude out there now, though a healthy attitude, has created a plethora of bad music. I call it the DYI, do yourself in." He remains as passionate as ever about music, and brings his 35 plus years of experience to the table. His production techniques are earning him a "Signature sound" that he ,and everyone that works with him, take pride in.
